“Uvelka” is one of the largest brands specializing in the production of cereals and porridge. The client team approached DS1 with the task of developing visual identity for entering the markets of China, the United Arab Emirates, and the USA.

During market and target audience analysis, it became clear that in China the “Krokant” candies are extremely popular, and consumers simply call them “purple candies”. In addition, Russian creamy ice cream is also popular among the Chinese. Based on this, special flavors were developed, primarily aimed at the Chinese consumer – porridge with the taste of ice cream, as well as salted caramel and nuts.

DS1 branding developed 7 SKUs for porridge with more classic and familiar flavors: strawberry, raspberry, honey and nuts, milk, peach, blueberry, and apple. The packaging color palette was also based on a blue color. The handwritten character of the chosen font emphasizes the naturalness of the product, the freshness of the berries and fruits. The blue color of the packaging sets the porridge apart from competitors, as it became clear from the analysis that yellow-orange shades are mainly used for the packaging of instant porridges.
